Going out to the Grand Canyon is nice, but doing it on the water is even better. If you have decide to go on a grand canyon rafting trip, it is entirely up to you whether you would like to do this by motor boat, paddle rafts or by oar. Whichever you decide you will not be disappointed. These trips can last from one night up to 15 depending on what you prefer.

Each trip will be supervised by a profession guide and will teach you about the different land marks as you pass by as well as showing you different ways to cook delicious meals over open fires. The National Park service pri
des themselves on their reputation for service and safety to all who embark on this exciting trip. If you prefer to see this beautiful sight by air, there is a helicopter that will take you to the end and back again.

There are river trips that will take about 2 - 5 days and includes a 52 river mile of water that is generally smooth. A noncommercial river permit is required when taking up this rafting experience. There are not many campsites that run down this part of the river and if you would like to stop at Hualapai Tribe, a permit will be needed in advance as this is a cultural site and needs to be treated with respect and care.

There are some bus tours that will include a visit to The Hoover Dam. You will be given an opportunity to walk on the Skywalk. This is a unique bridge that is made from glass and is about 4.000 feet above the floor. This provides a stunning view of the Colorado River and the Grand Canyon. When walking out onto this structure you will experience sights that you will not see anywhere else.

Some tours will provide some stop offs along the way so that you can hike to the beautiful waterfalls and sites that a normally not seen from the river. Normally one will spend about 3 - 5 hours each day on the rafts and the rest will be exploring and relaxing at camp sites. There will be opportunities to see canyons on these walks and well as all the flora and fauna.

This canyon stretches 277 miles and elevates from 2.400 to over 7.000 feet above sea level. It stretches across the Northern part of Arizona. In some places it is over eighteen miles wide and one mile deep. On the North Rim some portions stand more than 1.000 feet higher than the South Rim due to the sifts in the landmass.

If one is excited about signing up to go water rafting it will only be allowed with an experienced guide. These waters can be very dangerous if one has never attempted this before. These are classified into a scale of 1 to 10. The one represents a very flat and calm surface whereas a ten is one of the most difficult to attempt. Having a leisurely trip on a level 1 surface in the canyon will prove to be amazing.

There are three different sections at the Grand Canyon West that one should try and see The Eagle Point, Guano Point and the Hualapai Ranch. A walking tour will allow one to see authentic Native American dwellings with live performances of different tribes throughout the day. Jewelry and crafts will be on display for one to purchase as a memento of your trip.
